Away from your pup all day? Your dog is your family and you
expect nothing but the best for them. That’s where we come in.
The dog walking service that’s reliable, trustworthy, and on time, every time.
Get real-time updates
Save time and hassle with easy scheduling
Trust that your dog is in good hands
Don’t worry about your plant babies, either
You’ll schedule a 90-minute window for your pup’s walk. Then you’ll get a notification the moment your Skipper arrives to walk your dog. You’ll get a final report at the end with adorable photos, a GPS-tracked map, and your Skipper’s comments.
Scheduling visits in the app is quick and easy. Whether you need to schedule dog walking in advance or last minute, we’re here for you whenever you need us — even same-day and on the weekend.
Not only are our dog walkers as obsessed with your dog as you are. Unlike other pet care services, Skiptown doesn’t use contractors – we hire and train our people after they’ve completed 3 interviews and 2 background checks.
Yes, we’re there for your pup. But chances are that if you’re at work all day, there might be other things around your home that need tending. We can water plants, bring in your mail, and even put the trash out.
We know that it’s a big decision to let someone into your home and take care of your fur baby. And we don’t take that responsibility lightly. We redefined the dog walking service industry by creating a rigorous hiring and training process, and we only hire people who LOVE dogs. Plus we have a full-time support team and you’ll speak with our team before we ever enter your home.
The Purple People are hired employees
This is not the ride-share equivalent of the dog industry. We don’t contract out our dog walkers. (Ahem, Purple People.) We hire all team members as part-time or full-time W-2 employees, and we only bring them on board after they’ve passed 3 interviews and 2 background checks. We’re bonded and insured and we take full responsibility for every member of our team.
10 hours of classroom and field training
Each Purple Person receives over 10 hours of classroom and on-the-job training before performing their first solo visit. They learn about animal body language, play states and behavior, and emotional states, so that they’re always tuned into your pup’s mood and energy and can easily notice when something is off. They’re also trained to be 100% aware of their surroundings at all times so that they’re always ready for any situation that might arise.
Know and trust who enters your home
You’ll get to know the Purple People team before we enter your home. Before you schedule your first walk, you’ll set up a (free) consultation for you to tell us all about your pup and ask us any questions you have. We’ll tell you more about who we are, what the process is like, and get any details we need about how to best care for your pup. (Like which bush is their favorite to go potty on.) When a Purple Person arrives for the first visit, they’ll approach your pup in a calm and friendly way and give your pup plenty of time to say “hello” at their own pace.
Our walkers will do absolutely anything to make your pup happy
You know all of the ridiculous* things you do to keep your pup happy and comfortable? Like not getting up to go to the bathroom (even though you REALLY have to go) because they’re asleep in your lap and you don’t want to disturb them? Or that time you spend $60 on an 8-ounce jar of Manuka honey because you read that it can help strengthen your dog’s immune system? The Purple People will do equally ridiculous* things for your pup. They’ll come up with their own nicknames for your pup and jump through any hoop to make sure they’re happy.
*Ridiculous only to non-dog people. And honestly, aren’t THEY the ridiculous ones??
We have one mission: To do everything we can to make sure you come home to a happy, cared-for pup so that when you walk through that door at the end of a long day, you can kick your shoes off, change into sweatpants, and snuggle onto the sofa with your pup for a relaxing evening. Getting a puppy is one of the most exciting, delightful, and adorable experiences a dog-lover can have. AND puppies need a lot of care and attention that older dogs don’t require.
Puppies can control their bladder for about one hour for every month of age. So if a puppy is 2 months old, they can hold it for about two hours.*
So you have the challenge of making sure they get outside to go potty as frequently as possible, and you need to teach potty training in general.
Perfect pet care for new puppy parents
With Skiptown dog walking services, you can have a Purple Person come as often as you need to get your pup outside to do their business. This gives them the relief they need and reinforces good potty behavior! (And if they did have an accident in the crate, we’ll clean it up when we arrive.)
Purchase a bundle of visits and we’ll come by 2 or even 3 times a day to walk (and play with, because duh) your puppy while you’re at work, so you don’t have to worry about coming home to an anxious pup or a messy crate.

Here’s how to get started:
Using the calendar below, schedule a FREE consultation. We’ll talk all about your pup, your walking route, and security access to your home, and let you ask ANY questions you have.
Book and customize your dog walking service or cat care visit (free for same-day or in advance!) with our easy-to-use app.
Receive an arrival notification and a detailed summary report at the end of the visit with a GPS-tracked map and photos that your mom will want to print for her fridge.
Rest easy knowing your dog is happy and exercised with our dog walking service. We’re here to bring you peace of mind, every time.
To get started with our home services, the first thing you need to do is download the Skiptown app from the Apple App Store or Google Play. After you download the app, create an account and complete your pet’s profile. You will be prompted to input the information required to confirm your pet’s eligibility. You’ll also be able to upload your pet’s vet records and schedule a phone consultation through the app.
We take home security, and your peace of mind, very seriously. We follow best security practices and utilize a fully-digitized system to safely and securely store your home access information. We never hold keys or personal property.
During the consultation, we’ll go over your home security protocol. We’re able to fully customize the home entry routine to align with your preferences – whether you prefer we use a lockbox (purchased from Skiptown or elsewhere), a keyless entry code, an alarm system, or apartment unit access through a leasing office, we’re happy to fit your needs!
Yes! While dogs make up a majority of our clients, we love our cats, too, and all of our Skippers are professionally trained in cat care and feline behavior! For our cat clients, you’ll need to download the Skiptown app and create an account. After you’ve set up your cat’s profile in the app and completed a phone consultation, you can book a home visit for your cat through our app. During cat care visits, we’ll customize our visit routine to meet your cat’s needs! Depending on your cat’s personality, we engage with your cat as much as you like. We know how crafty at hiding some cats can be; that’s why during your Skiptown home visit, we’ll always make sure we locate your cat in the house (even if they don’t want to play!) so you know that they’re doing well. Before we refresh their litter box, we always document what we find in the litter box so you know your cat is eating and drinking normally! You’ll receive a detailed visit report with updates on how your cat is doing and photos of your cat.
Your dog or cat will be cared for by one of our expertly-trained pet care professionals. All of our Skippers go through an intensive 5-step recruiting and training process before they’re hired to join our elite team. We select fewer than 10% of applicants to join Skiptown. The hiring and training process includes two background checks, an in-person interview, and 5 days of classroom and on-site training including animal behavior and wellness training and pet first aid. All of our Skippers are bonded and insured.
Your dog or cat will see a rotation of Skippers. All of our Skippers are trained to the same high standard of care so you’ll receive consistency in service for every visit. You can see which team member is assigned to your visit in the Skiptown app.
You can easily book and manage your home service visits through the Skiptown app. Visits booked or canceled after 6 PM the day prior to the visit will incur a $6 fee.
We never charge for additional pets in a home services visit. Prices are based on time and we’re happy to take care of your whole fur family during your visit.
We are happy to help you with bringing in the mail, watering the plants, or turning on/off the lights for no additional charge! You just need to indicate in your visit notes any reasonable, additional services you need us to handle and we will take care of them during your visit. If you need additional services, please book a visit duration that allows for enough time for your Skipper to complete all requests! For requests that necessitate more time than the reserved visit length, we may extend your visit length and update the charge to your account.
We offer home services visits Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m, Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. When you schedule a visit, you’ll have the option to indicate the requested arrival window for your Skipper. The minimum arrival window is 90 minutes (i.e. if you book a visit with a 90-minute arrival window between 11:30am-1pm, your Skipper will arrive sometime between 11:30am and 1pm). You’ll be notified through the Skiptown app when your Skipper arrives.
Yes, we are happy to administer oral or topical medication to your pet during their visit. Please update the medication information and dosage instructions in the Skiptown app; you can add medication to your dog or cat’s visit when booking.
If requested as a part of your pet’s routine, we’d be happy to provide off-leash exercise in a secured area – like a backyard or in a dog park!
Please note, to ensure the safety of our fur clients, we do not allow any of our fur clients to interact with non-household dogs during Skiptown home visits – that means we’ll only be able to utilize dog parks when there is no one else using them. We take this policy seriously – we will cross the street when we see another dog being walked along the same path. It’s our priority to create an environment that keeps your pet safe at all times!
