We’re on a mission to make it easier, and more fun, for pets and their people to live their best lives. We only bring the best of the best on board. We hire dog-loving people with professional pet care experience who demonstrate trustworthiness, reliability, strong judgement, and – you guessed it – LOVE. PETS. Through our four-step hiring process, each candidate must successfully pass 2 interviews, 1 background check, and 20 hours of classroom and field training. Every Skipper must embody each of our 6 core values:

Meggie Williams
Founder & CEO

Neighborhood: Wilmore

An animal lover all her life, Meggie began rescuing injured animals when she was a young girl. After graduating from UNC, she moved to NYC to join the corporate world but enjoyed watching her neighbors’ pets more, so she started a Manhattan-based dog walking business. After getting married and spending a year back-packing around the world with her husband, Meggie moved to Charlotte and started Skipper to help make your life easier knowing your pet is in great hands!

Niki Chimberg
Head of Product

Neighborhood: Optimist Park

Niki was born and raised in the Boston area and ventured down to Charlotte after graduating from Cornell University. She works in marketing and web design, and Skipper is her third Charlotte startup. Niki has always loved dogs and she adopted Alfie (a fluffy mutt) shortly after moving to Charlotte. In her free time, Niki enjoys building and refurbishing furniture, traveling, hiking with Alfie, and rooting for Boston sports teams.

Luke Griffith
Head of Engineering

Neighborhood: Atlanta

Luke started his career in the restaurant world managing a pair of Chick-fil-A restaurants. He broke sales and customer satisfaction records there before changing career paths to pursue programming full-time for a leading marketing company. He has always been a dog lover and is passionate about helping bring Skipper to the rest of the Southeast and beyond. In their free time, Luke and his wife love exploring Charlotte with their dog, Darby.

Megan Bailey
Head of People

Neighborhood: Steele Creek

Megan grew up in Charleston, SC and moved to Charlotte 12 years ago to start her career in public accounting. After realizing she liked people more than numbers, she transitioned into a role focused on recruiting and HR and has spent the last 10 years helping companies link people strategies to business strategies. In their free time, Megan and her husband love cuddling with their dogs, Maggie & Brinkley, traveling and all things Harry Potter.

Chris Day
Head of Finance

Neighborhood: Waxhaw

Chris grew up in the suburbs of NYC and joined the US Army as an Infantry Officer after graduating from Yale with a Political Science degree. He went on to earn his MBA at Columbia Business School, and began his career at a small middle-market private equity firm in NYC. He then spent time working as a consultant, and in 2019 he, his wife, and 5 kiddos, and golden retriever moved to the Carolinas, which they're all now happy to call home!

Joe Recomendes
Head of Marketing

Neighborhood: Wesley Heights

Joe was born and raised in the Boston area and made it to Charlotte after getting his Masters at UNC Chapel Hill. He’s been working in digital marketing since 2010, and has worked with a variety of startups since 2012. Joe lives with his wife, his two dogs (Marlee and Parmesan), and his cat in West Charlotte and in his free time, Joe enjoys woodworking, triathlon, cooking, and exploring North Carolina’s craft beer scene.

Patrick Winham
Head of Operations

Patrick was born and raised in Tucker, GA. He spent 8 years in the United States Navy, and worked as a contractor in the DC area before moving to Charlotte, NC in 2016. Patrick has always been a dog lover and currently has Koda, a 1.5 year old yellow lab. He lives with his wife, Kelli, daughter, Stella, and son, Noah. In his spare time, you can find him rooting for his Atlanta sports teams and spending quality time with his family.

Nicole Merchant
Operations Strategy Manager

Neighborhood: South End

Nicole grew up in Seattle and moved to Charlotte in 2010. Nicole, her husband, and their pug, Myla, spend their free time exploring the walking trails and dog-friendly restaurant patios of Charlotte.

Nathan Mojica
Senior Product Manager, Core Products

Neighborhood: Dilworth

Originally from Kansas City, MO, Nathan first moved to Charlotte after graduating from Elon University. His background is in finance, entrepreneurship, and tech. Outside of work, he likes to create music, rock climb, and cook.

Madeline Perez
People Success Manager

Neighborhood: Mountain Island

Madeline is originally from upstate NY, but grew up all over the East Coast. She ended up in the Midwest for college because she missed the snow so much. Once graduated she moved to Charlotte to be closer to her sister (and realized she didn't love the snow as much as she thought)! Before joining the team, Madeline spent the last few years at a headhunting company learning the ins and outs of the recruiting business. Outside of work Madeline enjoys spending time with her three nephews and her pup, Wrigley!

Jeremy Alvarado
Lead Project Manager

Neighborhood: Reid Park

Jeremy is originally from New York. He has lived all over the US. During that time, he has managed projects in low voltage, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and casework. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his two kids Remy & Keira.

Sabrina Hall
Product Designer

Neighborhood: East Forest

Sabrina grew up in the Virginia Beach area and moved to Charlotte this year to start her career in product design. Her background is in information technology and marketing. When she’s not designing, she loves to stay active through latin dancing and boxing, and try new plant-based recipes.

Kyle McKinley
Product Manager, Data & 3rd Party Products

Kyle was born in the Philadelphia area and moved to Charlotte a few years after graduating from Elon University. He started a lawn mowing business in middle school and has loved working in startup companies ever since. In his free time, Kyle loves to boast about his Philadelphia sports teams, workout, play chess, and train his dog Amber.

Sallie Best
Content Marketing Coordinator

Sallie was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina and moved to Charlotte in 2021. Outside of work, Sallie enjoys laid back days with her husband, sweet pup (Marty), and adorable kitten (Ruthie) as well as painting, exploring Charlotte, and having a drink with friends!
