They’re cute. They’re cuddly. They may or may not have actual springs in their feet.

There’s no denying that goldendoodles make great pets, and even better pals.

Here are a few of our favorite goldendoodle facts:

The goldendoodle personality is playful, friendly, and fun-loving

Goldendoodles are the offspring of two lovable breeds: golden retrievers and poodles. It’s no surprise then that goldendoodles are affectionate, loving, kind and accepting of strangers, making them an ideal choice for both new and experienced dog owners.

They do, however, have a very high energy level and a high activity level. Just like Tigger, they’re bouncy, trouncy, flouncy, pouncy, and fun, and the goldendoodle personality does best in households with enough space and time for lots of exercise.

These furry friends love all the classic canine activities, such as fetch, long walks, and running. (And getting their wiggles out at daycare!)

Goldendoodles are very smart dogs and willing to learn new behaviors and commands with the help of positive reinforcement.

Goldendoodles are hypoallergenic

Many dog lovers who’ve found themselves allergic to most breeds have taken delight in learning this goldendoodle fact: Not only does the goldendoodle personality make them one of the best choices for a pet, but they’re also hypoallergenic.

That’s right. Even if you’ve had a lifetime of being allergic to doggos, chances are you’ll be just fine with a goldendoodle. Plus, most goldendoodles don’t even shed, making vacuuming at your house cinch.

Goldendoodles come in many shapes and sizes

When we think of goldendoodles, many of us picture giant teddy bear-like dogs, which is totally valid. But if you prefer smaller dogs, a goldendoodle is still a wonderful option!

Goldendoodle size is dictated by whether the poodle parent is a standard poodle or a miniature poodle. A standard goldendoodle weighs between 30 and 45 pounds at maturity, but can be as small as 15-25 pounds.

As a general rule, the larger the goldendoodle, the more energy they’ll have.

Socializing is important for goldendoodles

The goldendoodle personality is naturally curious and friendly. They’re also usually very calm around humans (unless they need to release their zoomies!) and do great with other dog breeds.

These loveable pals tend to thrive around new people and dogs, and have we mentioned how much they love to play?

Taking your goldendoodle on hiking adventures or trips to the dog park is a great way to make them happy, give them exercise, and have a fun life with your favorite companion.
